Three arrested after cars set alight in Grimsby

Three men have been arrested following a multiple car fire in Grimsby.

Police and fire crews were called in the early hours of Tuesday 14 October after five vehicles were deliberately set on fire on Barmouth Drive, forcing three families to evacuate their homes. Residents described the incident as a “terrifying and traumatic” ordeal.

Fortunately, no one was injured.

Two men, aged 39 and 41, have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson and remain in custody. An 18-year-old man was also arrested but has been released under investigation and is not believed to be involved.

The force is continuing to appeal for anyone with information to come forward to assist with the investigation.
