Plans have been unveiled to transform the walkway leading up to Cleethorpes Railway Station.
The area between Grant Street and the North Promenade — currently home to a bar, kiosk shop and arcade — is largely plain and in visible disrepair, making it unappealing to many who pass through.
Under new proposals submitted by train operator TransPennine Express, the space could be given a major facelift with new seating, lighting, planters and customer information screens. The existing ramps would also be replaced to improve safety and accessibility.
The plans follow the recent installation of a Changing Places toilet unit at Cleethorpes station.
If approved, the works aim to create a more welcoming pedestrian area that supports North East Lincolnshire Council’s wider regeneration of the resort.
A decision on the application is expected next month.
