Cleethorpes restaurant offers free meal on Christmas Eve

A Cleethorpes restaurant is opening its doors to the public this Christmas Eve to offer a free meal to anyone in need.

Cafe Baraka, located on Osbourne Street, specialises in Afro-Caribbean cuisine and has made it an annual tradition to support those facing loneliness or financial hardship during the festive season.

This year, the restaurant will welcome the local community on Wednesday, 24 December, serving a free curry to all who attend.

Owner Oumar said: “We know the holidays can be a tough time — for some it’s loneliness, for others it’s financial worries, or just the weight of the year catching up. So, we’re inviting anyone who needs it to pop in, say hi, and grab a free homemade curry on us.

“There’ll be hot meals ready to enjoy, and we’ll also have some extra food bits to take home for those who are struggling a little this season. No judgement, no questions — just kindness, good food, and community. Whether you’re on your own, having a hard time, or simply want to be around some friendly faces for a bit, you’re so welcome.”

Timings are yet to be confirmed.
