A community hub on Grimsby’s East Marsh is offering a free Christmas meal to anyone who may be spending the day alone this year.
Formerly known as the Uniform Hut, Café Delight on Pasture Street has become a welcoming space for local families, featuring a soft play area, sensory room, and pamper space. The team has built a strong reputation for supporting the community and creating an inclusive, judgment-free environment for all.
This Christmas, they are extending that support to up to 30 people facing loneliness, by providing a free meal delivered to their door. Deliveries will take place on Christmas Eve, with the aim of ensuring no one feels forgotten during the festive season.
Speaking to Gi Grimsby News, a spokesperson for the organisation explained that they decided to offer the meals because as a way of spreading kindness at what can be a difficult time for many.
They said: “We decided to do this because no one should feel forgotten at Christmas. A warm meal and a friendly smile can make all the difference to someone spending the day alone. It’s our way of spreading kindness and reminding our community that they’re cared for.”
