Grimsby’s new Horizon Youth Zone has opened its doors for young people to sign up for membership.
The multi-million-pound facility, located on Garth Lane in the town centre, has been created within a Grade II listed building, formerly home to the West Haven Maltings and Migar House. The site has undergone a major restoration, with the addition of a new sports hall and a large outdoor multi-use games area.
The Youth Zone will offer state-of-the-art facilities for young people aged eight to 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs. Amenities include a climbing wall, music room with a built-in recording studio, performing arts space, arts and crafts areas, a maker zone with 3D printing equipment and kiln, and a range of sports facilities including a 3G pitch, boxing gym, sports hall, and fitness suite. A dedicated Enterprise and Employability suite will also help young people develop skills and explore local career opportunities.
Membership costs just £5 per year, with visits priced at 50p each. Interested young people can sign up here.
The facility is expected to open early next year, with a grand opening planned for mid-February.
