A man has been arrested after a dramatic pursuit in Cleethorpes.
Officers on patrol on Monday 24 November spotted the driver of a vehicle who was suspected to be uninsured and linked to criminality on Fairview Avenue. When stopped and questioned, the driver is reported to have returned to his vehicle before suddenly speeding away.
A short chase followed, during which the driver allegedly attempted to ram a police car in an effort to escape. The chase came to an end when the vehicle collided with a nearby fence.
No one was injured in the incident.
The driver is then reported to have fled on foot, prompting the deployment of Police Dog Yoiko who quickly tracked and detained the suspect.
A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving and driving without insurance. Following initial enquiries, he was further arrested on suspicion of assault linked to a separate incident in another force area.
