Work will soon begin on a busy Grimsby junction in a bid to improve safety for both motorists and pedestrians.
A new box junction is planned near the entrance to Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, at the junction of Scartho Road, Forsythia Drive and Cragston Avenue.
North East Lincolnshire Council said the “vital upgrade” will help keep the junction clear while “improving the flow of traffic”.
The work is scheduled to take place overnight from 9pm on 9 December 2025 until around 4am the following morning. Four-way signals will operate throughout. The council says access to Cragston Avenue, Forsythia Drive and the hospital will be maintained “as much as possible”, though there may be brief periods of restricted access. Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times.
A council spokesperson added: “Although every effort will be made to minimise disruption, please be aware that some elements may be noisy. The Council and contractor, Specialist Surfacing Ltd would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience and assure you that the work will be completed as quickly and safely as possible.”
