This year’s cohort of Donna Nook seal pups are quickly making their way out to sea for the first time.
From the viewing area, 41 pups, 1 cow and 3 bulls are currently visible, while the entire reserve is still home to hundreds of pups.
The first pup of the season arrived in late October, marking the start of the birthing period, which typically sees thousands of grey seals arrive on the Lincolnshire coast. This natural spectacle regularly draws visitors from across the UK.
The total pup count for the season has reached 1,924, surpassing last year’s record of 1,649. Officials say they do not expect many more births before the season concludes.
