A community hub in Grimsby is appealing for donations to help it continue providing vital support to families in need.
Based on Pasture Street, Café Delight offers a range of family-friendly facilities, including a children’s soft play area, a sensory room and a pamper room. Alongside this, the organisation plays a key role in supporting vulnerable families across the borough, regularly providing free meals and practical assistance.
Since October, Café Delight has served around 1,800 free hot meals to struggling families in North East Lincolnshire. Most recently, support was extended to 30 people facing loneliness, with a free Christmas dinner delivered direct to their door.
However, owners Kerrie Bennett and Rebecca Muson say demand for support continues to grow and have issued an appeal to the public for help to ensure the service can continue.
The café is welcoming donations of long-life food items, as well as financial contributions to help cover food supplies, gas and ongoing running costs.
Anyone wishing to support Café Delight can make donations in person, or by contacting the team via text on 07921815295, through their Facebook page, or by emailing eastmarshcommunityspace@gmail.com.
