The Coastguard has been called to reports of a suspected explosive device discovered on Cleethorpes beach.
Humber Coastguard alerted Cleethorpes Coastguard to the find on Wednesday, 7 January, after a North East Lincolnshire Council nature ranger spotted the object during routine beach checks.
The device was located around 400 metres from the shoreline, prompting the Cleethorpes Coastguard team to attend the scene.
Following an inspection, the object was identified as an old RAF practice bomb, believed to have washed ashore from the Donna Nook firing range, where the RAF regularly carries out training exercises.

On this occasion, the device was confirmed to be inert and posed no risk to the public.
However, the Coastguard has warned that similar objects can sometimes be found intact or partially intact, and may still contain explosive material.
Members of the public are being urged not to touch any suspicious items found on the beach. Instead, people should keep a safe distance and call 999, asking for the Coastguard.
