Man banned from every One Stop store in North East Lincolnshire

A Grimsby man has been banned from several convenience stores in North East Lincolnshire following a string of shop thefts.

Michael Jewitt, 35, pleaded guilty to multiple counts of shop theft and received a 26-week sentence on Thursday, 4 December 2025. Following another appearance at Grimsby Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 7 January 2026, he has since been issued with a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order, the conditions of which are that he must not enter or attempt to enter any One Stop store in North East Lincolnshire.

Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant Richard Ames said: “Breaching this order is a criminal offence and could result in a fine, imprisonment, or both. If you see Jewitt and witness any behaviour that goes against the conditions of this order, please contact us immediately.

“This Criminal Behaviour Order demonstrates the proactive steps we are taking to reduce crime in our communities. It should serve as a clear warning that offending will not be tolerated.

“If you have concerns about crime in your area, please call our non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, if would you prefer to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
