Car destroyed in ‘deliberate’ blaze

A car has been destroyed after it was deliberately set alight in Grimsby. 

Humberside Fire and Rescue (HFRS) were called to Peaks Lane at 7.41pm on Wednesday 14 January, after a car was discovered engulfed in flames. 

Crews quickly tackled the blaze and extinguished it in under an hour, but despite their efforts the vehicle was left completely destroyed.

Initial investigations have determined that the fire was started deliberately. 

A spokesperson for HFRS said: “We received a call at 7.41pm on 14 January to reports of a car on fire off Peaks Lane in Grimsby. The fire was quickly extinguished and our firefighters left the incident at 8.20pm. The incident has been labelled as deliberate ignition.”
