Man hospitalised after being ‘punched and kicked’ at Cleethorpes pub

A man was taken to hospital in the early hours of this morning after being allegedly punched and kicked during an altercation inside a Cleethorpes pub.

Humberside Police were called to Grant Street at around 3.20am on Sunday, 18 January, following reports of a disturbance involving two people.

Officers say the incident resulted in a 21-year-old man falling to the ground, where he was reportedly punched and kicked.

Emergency services attended the scene and the man was taken to hospital with a head injury, which police say is not believed to be serious at this time.

A 40-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remains in police custody while investigations continue.

A scene guard was put in place to allow officers to carry out enquiries and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. This has since been lifted.

Humberside Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. Anyone who may have seen the incident, or has information that could assist officers, is asked to contact police on 101, quoting log 66 of January 18.
