Police are appealing for information after a large quantity of concrete and soil was left on the carriageway, forcing the closure of the A16.
According to officers, the incident impacted a stretch of the road in the Louth area at around 4.20pm on Monday 20 January, when the materials are believed to have fallen from a moving vehicle travelling from the Kenwick Roundabout to Ulceby Cross.
The debris was spread over a long stretch of the road, creating a hazard for motorists.
Officers were deployed to the area to deal with the situation, with highways teams also called in to assist with the clean-up. Due to the volume of material and safety concerns, the A16 was closed during a busy period to allow the road to be cleared.
Police are now asking for help from the public to identify the vehicle involved. Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has dashcam footage from the area at the time is urged to come forward by emailing jared.thorp@lincs.police.uk.
