Three in court after four people overdose in Grimsby

Three men have appeared at Grimsby Magistrates Court charged with drug offences after several people fell unwell over the weekend.

On Saturday 24 January, police and paramedics were called to four reports of unresponsive individuals following suspected overdoses involving substances believed to include heroin and a synthetic amphetamine.

Subsequent searches at addresses in Grimsby and Cleethorpes uncovered suspected Class A, B, and C drugs, along with cash and mobile phones. Ten people were arrested; three have now been charged and appeared in court on Tuesday 27 January, while the remaining seven have been released on bail pending further investigation.

Jack Baker, 20, of Cleethorpes, faces two counts of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, possession of an offensive weapon, and possession of criminal property. He has been remanded in custody.

Owen Barker, 23, of Grimsby, has been charged with two counts of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and remanded in custody.

Fidel Rayzan, 21, of Grimsby, faces three counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of criminal property. He has been released on conditional bail ahead of a further court appearance.
