Groundwork has started on the long-delayed Sea Road development in Cleethorpes.
The former Waves nightclub was demolished several years ago as part of an £18.3 million plan to regenerate three key sites in the town.
The council’s proposals will transform the site into a new tourist destination. Once complete, the three-storey building will include an information point, public toilets, a Changing Places facility, and commercial spaces, with a pre-let already agreed with a leading independent national hospitality company, according to North East Lincolnshire Council.
Originally due to open in March 2025, the project has faced multiple delays. However, local residents may have noticed recent activity on site after containers belonging to the previous contractor were removed, allowing the new contractor to take over.
Units are being advertised to let through PPH Commercial.
