A local wildlife rescue group has issued an appeal after a gull was reported with a sports marker cone stuck around its neck.
Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue said it was alerted on Tuesday evening to the bird in the Carr Lane area of Grimsby. While there is hope the cone may come loose on its own, the group says intervention may be needed if it does not.
The rescue has asked members of the public in and around Carr Lane to keep an eye out for the gull and report any sightings as soon as possible, so volunteers can attempt to safely capture the bird and remove the cone.
Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue thanked residents for their continued support and for helping to protect local wildlife.
