Over 200,000 visit Grimsby and Immingham tips in 2025

Visitors to Grimsby and Immingham’s recycling centres surpassed 200,000 in the last 12 months.

In 2025, 211,306 visitors recycled 7418 tonnes at the Grimsby and Immingham Community Recycling Centres. For comparison, the Eiffel Tower weighs roughly 7,300 tonnes.

Some of the most popular times of year for the recycling centres was March, April and May, with 20,000 visitors for spring cleaning, and also August as people looked to clear out their homes, garages, and sheds ready for Christmas shopping.

Councillor Henry Hudson, Portfolio Holder for Environment and Net Zero, said: “It’s great to see people using our Community Recycling Centres. The amount recycled is truly staggering, it’s a pleasure to see how dedicated we are to making North East Lincolnshire a greener place.”

One user on Facebook described visiting the community recycling centres as a worthwhile chore, saying that individuals should “make an excuse to visit” the “fantastic staff all with a sense of humour”.

A particular point of interest for visitors is the fantastic decorations that adorn the site, created by the staff who work there.

Councillor Hudson also praised the staff, saying that they “deserve a special thank you for their amazing displays that make everyone’s visit to the tip more enjoyable.”

Grimsby and Immingham’s Community Recycling Centres are open daily from 8AM to 6PM apart from Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day and can be found at Estuary Way, Grimsby, and Queen’s Road, Immingham.
