The chief constable of Humberside Police has said he is “incredibly proud” after new figures revealed a fall in recorded crime across the force area.
Data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) shows reported crime fell by 3.7% between September 2024 and September 2025, compared with the same period the previous year. This equates to around 3,500 fewer recorded incidents across Hull, East Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire.
The force said this marks the seventh consecutive release of the figures to show a reduction in crime.
Chief Constable Chris Todd said he hopes the latest statistics highlight the force’s ongoing dedication to keeping people safe.
“We are a smaller force, but we are effective, and we care about our communities and delivering the best possible service with the highest standards,” he said.
“I am particularly pleased to see strong reductions in offences that have an impact on people’s everyday lives. We have seen notable year‑on‑year decreases in burglary, stalking and harassment, theft from the person and bicycle theft, placing us among the best performing forces nationally in several of these categories.
“The reductions in crime across our area is a real testament to our officers and staff, who remain completely dedicated and determined to deliver the best possible service to our communities and provide the highest of standards, so people feel supported and reassured. I am incredibly proud of what they have achieved.”
