Man arrested for string of offences after ramming police car

A 41-year-old man is currently in our custody after a car failed to stop in Brigg.

The man was apprehended on Kings Avenue in Brigg at around 6.45pm on Wednesday 1 May.

Officers spotted a driver of a vehicle who was believed to have been involved in an assault at an address on Kings Avenue at around 2.20pm on the same day.

The vehicle is believed to have been driven into a police vehicle before failing to stop for officers.

Subsequently, a police pursuit entailed, and the vehicle is then believed to have been stopped on Mortal Ash Hill where it caught on fire.

Following police action from officers, traffic officers, and police dog unit in pursuit, the man was quickly removed away the vehicle and arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm, criminal damage, theft of motor vehicle, fail to stop, dangerous driving, arson, positive drugs swipe for class A drugs, and attempt grievous bodily harm.

He remains in police custody at this time.
